sleep patterns from pregnancy to birth

My unborn baby is really quiet in the mornings and then becomes quite active in the afternoon and well into the evening. This seems to be a developing pattern. Sleep all day then wake up and play.

Has anyone noticed whether patterns developed during late pregnancy continue after the baby is born, or does a newborn baby behave completely differently?

i am not sure to what extent they follow the same sleep patterns.

But i do believe that they sleep in a position similar to the u/s scans
ie: DD always had her hands near her face in the scans and when born wouldnt be wrapped as she always wanted her hands on her face

I have heard a few people say this & it was true for my DS - he was always quiet at night & active in the day - both in the womb & once he was born.

Not here. DS was quiet at night during the pregnancy, in fact I never had to get up through the night.. not even to pee! LOL. Well, that all went out of the window for the next 2 years LMAO. He was a frequent waker for a long long time. Altho I will say that he never woke up to play at night.. just woke to feed.

So I'm not sure it really relates. Their lives are very different out of the womb. For starters they have to wake frequently to feed.. something they didnt' have to do in the womb
