My DD started teething at around 3 months and still has yet to have a tooth come through.
Hi there,
My baby girl is 3.5 months and the last few days she has been showing signs of teething. She is drooling heaps, chewing on everything, little unsettled and she doesn't seem as interested in her feeds.
What does everyone think? How long does it take teeth to come through?
Also when a baby isn't feeding as well as they normally do will this affect my milk supply?
Sorry for all the questions but I am still on my L Plates!
My DD started teething at around 3 months and still has yet to have a tooth come through.
It took about a week from when they started really chewing on their fists etc. But they were only unsettled for a few days. Both got their first teeth at 12 weeks.
Having said that though DS has been chewing aggressively on objects and fists now for about 2 weeks and no more teeth yet.
Firstbub, they are all different. Jack started those teething signs at 3 months and got his first tooth at 6 months! Tom started the signs at 5 months the day before the tooth cut taking me by surprise. It is very normal for the signs to start around 3 months, but it could take anywhere from a day to 3 months for the first tooth to cut. Generally, but not always, you will know when it's imminent as they get quite grizzly.
Don't worry too much about her fussy feeding. Your bbs should be able to readily adjust supply now. But if she's really off her food and you are getting quite full in between, then I would recommend expressing. It's always good to have a store of EBM in the freezer anyway.
