Mimo - Not sure if this will help at all but we were just on hols for 2 weeks and I didn't want Lucie to sleep in a portacot the entire time because it is actually quite hard and uncomfortable, but I picked up a port-a-cot mattress from a baby shop for $45 (if your port-a-cot is standard size) and it was a lot better.
