    Sleeping in his rocker???

My DS sleeps really well at night in his cot in his room....but for his day naps its a total screaming match to settle him in there! I used to still have his bassinet set up in the lounge room so I would put him that for day naps....but now he is really too big for it so I packed it away hoping he would get used to the cot....well he hasnt!
He will happily drift off to sleep on his playmat in the loungeroom. And will often fall asleep quite quickly in his rocker seat (its the fisher price newborn to toddler rocker). Because its a convertible one, I can lie it back a fair way (like he is not as upright as if he was in his swing or car seat) When I try to move him to his cot from the floor or the rocker he will be back to screaming by the time I get to his room!!
So basically what Im wondering is....will it do him any harm to nap in his rocker??? (I had heard large amounts of time in the car seat was bad for their spine thats why I was worried) Or any other ideas for getting him to use the cot during the day (cos I guess the rocker wont be suitable forever!!)
    Thanks guys

all of my kids have been a bit funny about day sleeps in thier cot at that young age. I would every couple of days try to get them to sleep in the rocker in thier cot.. Sometimes it worked sometimes it didn't..

Around 5-6 months they started having at least one day sleep in thier cot without anything. I stopped it once they could wriggle out of it

I don't know about it being bad for them? Ds2 used to sleep in his rocker heaps, even at night when he was newborn, we didn't have a bassinette & it was better & easier to have him next to our bed in his bouncer, didn't plan it that way but it worked well for us.
    No dramas with it here...

I kinda just go with it personally. I sometimes wonder if it's not because they spend so much time laying down that they like the different positions etc. All of mine have slept in rockers, play mats and the likes during the day but slept fine in their bed at night.

Speaking of, Elijah is currently asleep in his rocker now and Oskar has been seriously noisy right behind him BANGING things together and he's not flinched... so I'd say it is a good thing sometimes.

Id say its alight. My DS slept in his rocker for all his days sleeps unil he was too big for it. At night he was in bed but i liked it too during the day cause he was close to me and got used to it being noisy.

My son has the same rocker & used to sleep in it all the time during the day. I don't think it did him any harm.

I asked the MCHN and my doctor about this as DD used to sleep all her day sleeps in her bouncer and I was worried it was bad for her spine or something and they both said its fine.

    Just do whatever works hun
