    sleeping question ?

My DS is 4 weeks old and when he awakes at night, usually 1am, it's taking me about 1 1/2 - 2 hrs to get him back to sleep, then he awakes 2 hrs later for another feed. it's not bothering me at the moment cause i sleep in during the day but in 4 weeks i'm back at work full time in a busy job and i'm petrified i'm not going to handle it.
he's sleeping in our room, so after a bottle feed, i rock him to sleep in the lounge till he's out then return him to his bassinett so he doesn't wake DH.
after the 4am feed i put him in bed next to me and he seems to fall asleep right away.
am i doing it right. during the day i just put him in his rocker, unwrapped and leave him and he usually lays awake for a while looking around before he falls asleep on his own, but at night i wrap him up and rock him till he's sleepy or sleeping then put him down. i tried just leaving him in his bassinett at night but i find he winges and lays awake for a hr or so before he sleeps.
i'm doing the night feeds at the moment cause DH is working and i know when i return to work he'll help out too, but is it normal to take a newborn 2 hrs to return to sleep.

Unfortunately yes, same thing happened with my DD.

Perhaps you'll be lucky like me and by 8 weeks she was starting to sleep through the night (well anywhere from 6 to 9 hours) now at 4 mths she sleeps 12 hrs. So keep doing what you're doing, your little boy should let you have more sleep soon and he will get quicker at falling back to sleep after a feed at night. (During the day a different story)
