    Sleeping on Tummy

    Hi everyone

My DS (5.5 months) has rejected his wrap over the last week or so, and will only sleep on his stomach (he can roll both ways, but is much better at rolling from his back onto his tummy rather than the other way around).

Will he be ok? Is there anything I should do re: SIDS risk?! He looks so darn gorgeous all sprawled out and cuddling up to his blankets

    Hi Ashlee,

Yes i agree he should be fine too. I know its not reccommended but my DS has been sleeping on his tummy from 7 days old as he refused to be wrapped and would only sleep on his back for 30mins at a time but would sleep for a few hours on his tummy and now he wont sleep on his back at all. He was holding his head up from birth and would turn his head from side to side, so that eased my mind a bit.

A few things i did to try make it a bit safer was to make sure his blankets were tightly tucked in and well away from his face, took the teddy's out and i also use a safe n sound anti roll pillow, not much use though as he wriggles up the other end and rolls over anyway lol but it does stop him from being able to wriggle down under the blanket and if he turns and comes back down it blocks him from being able to get his head under.

    Hope that helps.

Ok excellent I feel much better about it. Unfortunately he slept like crud last night, up 4 times. But, I know it's a process, and he'll be sleeping better in no time I'm sure
