I LOST spontaneity - everything must be planned in advance.
I GAINED an extra set of hands - even if those hands are into EVERYTHING, especially stuff I don't want touched!
I LOST ownership of everything in the house. If DScan touch it, it's his.
I GAINED innability to shop for myself. When out, everything is about what DS would like!

I have LOST a bunch of friendships and GAINED a couple of new ones
I have GAINED a new sense of loneliness whilst LOSING the ability to have any time ALONE!
I have LOST time for my marriage whilst GAINING two things very precious to it
I have GAINED a bunch of knowledge about pregnancy, breastfeeding, birth and child development
I have LOST all judgement towards other people's parenting and children, and GAINED a new respect for the fact that everyone has their own struggles
I have LOST snuggles with DH at night
I have GAINED an new BFing friendly wardrobe
I have GAINED the ability to type whilst breastfeeding (ok, that one isn't that hard, but gotta count all the positives no matter how insignificant!)
I have GAINED the ability to survive on 5 hours of broken sleep
I have LOST my previously lovely but high maintenance hair
I have LOST my fitness
I have GAINED an appreciation for living in the moment
I have GAINED the ability to be creative enough to survive at least three days past the official 'we've got nothing left to eat' discovery, because I'm too time-poor to actually get to the grocoery store.
