    Solids, BF and sleep

DD is 6mths and has been on solids for 1 mth. She is currently having 2 meals a day, I always offer BF first and 1 hour later solids (breakfast and tea). For the last couple of weeks she is only wanting 1 side each feed whereas previously she was having both sides. She is feeding 3 hoursly generally.

Night sleeping is gone down hill as well she has rarely slept through but when she did wake up 1-2 times a night I could always put her dummy in and she would go straight back to sleep, now she wakes screeming and the only way to settle her is to feed her which I doing generally between 1-2pm and 4.30-5.30am. I do a dream feed at 9.30pm.

I'm concerned because she is not BF as much during the day she is hungry at night. Do I drop a solid meal to get her to drink more?

Just thoughts love........ firstly feeding as regularly as she is, she probably isn't that hungry at the bf so only feels like she needs one side. I am just wondering if maybe she is getting hungry at night because she is now wanting more i.e. at lunch now? Do you think she might take the other side, or part of after her breakfast and tea? Can I ask how much she eats at her breakfast and tea?

Just a couple of other thoughts Do you think she might be ready to stretch her bf therefore having the bf co-inside with solids? (This would allow her to get that little bit hungrier when feeds roll around) So you could try a 5min bf before solids, then finish off with however much she wants? Or on top of that or instead of that, maybe begin introducing 2 or 3 tblspns of solids at lunch as well in your current pattern but with the same deal, 5mins bf first then solids, concluding with bf from other side? (you could try this at the other feeds?) Does that make sense?

Again, these are just my thoughts love based on my own experience but as every bubby is different, this may not even work (and you may not even want to do this ) but I hth even a little bit

My DS sounds similar to that too, but we are only on one solid feed per day but we are starting to introduce breakfast. He used to sleep through the night and now wants an extra feed around 3am. I have noticed that he is choosing to increase the time between his feeds. Is your bub bf or ff, my ds is demand feed and he will sometimes have a 5 hour gap during the day. This is what I am trying now to start solids

    nb: DS goes to creche
    bf around 3am,
wake again by 7am, offer bb and if not wanted that soon offer solids
During the day feed on demand anywhere from 3-5 hourly (2-3 feeds)
    get home about 5.30pm
    bf,
    solids
    bath
    bf
    bed by about 7.30
    occasional dream bf at 9.30-10pm

then we start all over again.
I do find that the bf freq largley depends on how hot it is too
Sometimes we start to think that our babies are going crazy because they change or that maybe something is wrong, and it could be nothing more simpler than it's hot and bub needs a drink
