    Stork/Strawberry marks!..

Izzy has them on her nose, eyelids and forehead and some days they are redder than others.

Just wondering how long it takes for them to disappear - they told me when she was born but I cant remember! A couple of years maybe??!!

Lindsay was the only one of mine that had one betwee his eyes and he still had the last little bit of it when he started school last year at 5yo. It looked redder too if he was hot or got really worked up and upset.

My DD Amber had a strawberry birthmark on her arm. I noticed a really dark red spot appearing when she was about 3 months old and thought I had pinched her in a jumpsuit. It continued to grow to about the size of a 50c piece. I took her to a specialist because it really freaked me out as it was raised and always felt very hot to touch. He told me that I could have it lasered off but it should disappear by the time she was 5. He was right, it just seemed to shrink and completely disappeared by the time she was 4.
We were so lucky that it was at the top of her arm and we could cover it up because people can be very cruel - I had someone push through a line up to come over and ask me what I had done to her, very upsetting...

Well I was just thinking about this yesterday!! Avaleigh has a red mark on the side of her tummy, I thought it was the nappy rubbing her but couldnt understand how it could do it as it is above her nappy. Mum said that it might be a 'strawberry something'. Interesting!

Mmmm she has bright red birthmarks on her scalp - Im assuming these wont go away (one is in the shape of Australia but being a chicky - her hair will cover it eventually, and two little ones on her back too. The ones on her eyes, nose etc fade and like you said Sherie- they come up brighter when she cries or is warm, so Im thinking they will eventually fade? I hope so - I know looks arent everything but the one on her nose looks cute now(if you go to my August pics on my site - the second photo of her show them up really well) once she starts school - they might not be so cute IYKWIM - and some kids can be so mean. Guess we will wait and see.

DD has one right in the middle of her back. It was really raised (like a soft bright red scab!). She is now 2 and a half and it's almost gone. It's gone down and faded. Again it does flare up and get redder if she's hot or upset. I'm not sure it's going to disappear completely but it is less noticible for sure. I was just glad it was where it was, most ppl don't even know. You know how cruel kids (and some ppl!) can be....

ETA I just looked at your pics, she is gorgeous! Such a smiley little princess!

My DS has a stork bite mark on the back of his neck which the paediatrician told us would fade by the time he was 1 but it is still there, faint but still there. His hair has started to grow over it so it's not too bad.
