I have photos of DD1 as a baby cuddling the remote whilst asleep. Very much a sign of things to come with her!
My DD reads cook books! She is always begging 'cook book read it' and I have to get some recipe books and read them with her. She is the only 2 year old I know that HAS to be able to point out the souffle and anzac biscuit pictures, and she knows what the photo of blind baking isWe often have to take cook books into the car and have tanties when we can't take them into the supermarket...
After reading this I am NEVER buying crocs!
DS used the take the attachments to the vacuum cleaner to bed when he was like 1. They were dusty and probably grotty, but hey, I'm sure it helps the immune system
DD has a habit of taking a ridiculous amount of toys to bed with her, but we have a rule no toys in the bedroom after lights out (we keep them downstairs) now (because they play and don't sleep), so DD had secretly been taking them upstairs and hiding them in her pillow case. I guess she sticks her hands inside when it's dark to play with them. I only found out when I was feeling lonely and went in to their room in the middle of the night to cuddle her and lay down on a pillow full on mobilo - so uncomfortable! Gosh my kids are sneaky!
I had a little chuckle at this Yael!
One night DH went in to tuck DD in after she'd been asleep for three hours, he found her in bed, tucked in under the covers cuddling her Miffy, with her toy pusher on the bed
Clearly DH did not put that on the bed when he put her to bed... so she's gotten out of bed in the dark, got the pusher, put it up on the bed and tucked herself back inPriceless. We flicked the light on and took a photo really quick... good parents that we are

DS2 sleeps with his ugly brown ikea teddy and Pooh bear teddy - no hard bits on them, but they both have to positioned correctly. But then gets out of bed to put copious amounts of matchbox cars under the pillow, i've found some mornings to be up to 20 under there. Then the 4WD truck he plays with is in there too along with it's trailer, oh and i forgot last week he wouldn't go to bed without a tanty if the wiggles guitar wasn't included in the pile of toys he sleeps with too. He also won't go to sleep without the fan on - he's on the bottom bunk, but he then pulls the doona up over his head... go figure!
Its my aunty's (or DS's great aunty) fault for the crocs... she bought him this tiny pair when he was born, which didn't actually fit him until he started walking at 11 months. But that's when he fell in love with them. I had actually taken him into the shoe shop at the begining of winter to get him some nice little boots/sneakers because he was starting to grow out of the crocs and he saw the croc stand and that was the end of it. I couldn't say no, he had the face! Mind you I wish I had known Target sold knock offs at the time... the originals are $60Mind you he wears them every day, I think we have gotten our money worth out of them so far.
Oh, and DS also sleeps with a Nuby gloturtle that plays music and a flatout bear that he lays out on his pillow just right and snuggles his face into it :P It's a bit cute <3
I stuck my head in the door to check on my then 7 year old DD one night before heading to bed myself one night, got the shock of my life because her bed was empty and the doona gone....I spy a pair of legs partially covered by "My Little Pony" doona sticking out sideways from under the bed....there she is curled up on her little flip out sofa she's had since she was 1 with the doona over her UNDER the bed!!
And yes, I took a photo...then left her there![]()
My DD used to sleep with an icepack becuase she needed to have her big thick blanket on even in summer and she would get hot LOL
DS will go to sleep with whatever car big or small he has been playing with that day!! He also has a thing for lemon, and frozen vegetables... hmmm.. but he hates his crocks lol!!!
One night a while ago DD was really unsettled, we were on the matress on the floor in the lounge room and I was trying to get her to go to sleep, she didnt want her bottle, didnt want cuddles, she was just un happy. Then somehow she got hold of one of DS's tupperware cups with the lid with water in it.. and she decided she wanted to hug that UPSIDE DOWN and NOW she would snuggle up to me. I tried twice to at least turn it around so it was right side up, but she screamed until it was upside down again, so I got to lay there while she went to sleep with water dripping over both of us, just to keep her happy lol I had to wait until she was really asleep before I carefully extracted it and she was ok, wet... but ok lol
I have to ask what the heck crocs are................................
DS is too little to have any interesting bedtime rituals yet, but I did catch DP asleep cuddling the remote the other night.![]()
