Sudden change in poo - help me figure this out?

DS is almost 10 months old, he's formula fed. Eats well, we do BLS so he normally eats what we have in the way of solids. Up until the past 4-5 days, he's been a one or two poos a day boy. And he has a small dose of Lactulose (a sugar syrup that helps keep water in the bowels) every morning as he was getting badly constipated by the formula.

Last few days, the frequency and consistency of his poo has changed dramatically. He's got a lot of wind, is pooing 6 or 7 times a day, and its now a runny, watery consistency with bits in it. Almost resembles something curdled - and sorry in advance - I know this is really gross, but it reminds me a bit of the spinach & cheese mix you get in some pastries IYKWIM? Its not really, really wet like diarrhoea would be, but its certainly not dry either. And he hasn't eaten any spinach lately either LOL!

We can't identify anything in particular that he would have eaten to bring on such a change, but maybe its something he's not tolerating well. Its been like this now since Friday, so 4 days, therefore he's had a variety of things to eat and still the same stuff.

We're going to drop the lactulose for a few days and see if that helps. But does this ring any bells for anyone? Does it make you think of a particular food or food group that might be triggering it? He's not showing any other signs of being unwell - he's his happy, normal self. So I don't think he's sick as such, just got something going on in his guts maybe?

    HELP!

Is he teething? My kids poos always get fairly acidic and runny when they teethe.

Thanks lilias - I did think of that the other day, but no sign of teeth as far as I can tell.
