I guess I should have clarified too that they are both generally pretty good eaters. DS won't really ask of anything else, usually it's DD and if he does ask I usually know he actually is hungry - he actually asked for a banana tonight at around 7:15 so I knew he probably was actually hungry. I have now told DD that if she doesn't eat all/most of her dinner she isn't allowed to have anything else later on but most of the time she really does eat well so I just don't know! Hard to know especially as she will eat all of whatever we give her once DS is in bed, so makes me think she does need it! She doesn't carry on and muck around either, will just sit and eat and then go brush teeth to get into bed.
