    Sweaty baby ...?

    Hi Guys,
Just wondering...... jacob gets really sweaty hands and feet... also when he has a bottle he gets a really sweaty forehead and the back of his head sweats really bad too.... he is a little skinny mini like his mum and the doc said he is a tiny bit underweight but he is a tiny bit above average height too....
Just wondering if anyone experiences the same thing with thier little one and if its anything to be concerned about?

    Thanks in advance.
    Cheers

Milo is a hot baby, and sweats a lot at night especially, but his head is always hot (though he doesn't have a temp).

If you are concerned maybe bring it up at your 4 month check at the health nurse?

Yup - we have a sweaty bub too. Often has a pool of sweat under his head in bed, and he also has a hot head (in more ways than one sometimes! ) so I can't use his forehead to check for a fever.

Riley is very sweaty too, his hair gets plastered onto his head as he gets so wet. Neither of his sisters was very sweaty so I guess they are all different. I checked his temp. a few times but its always fine so I just assume he's just a sweaty baby.

I've read that it's normal for babies to be sweaty little creatures up until about three years old. Hoping its true - got a hot little baby myself!

Both of mine are sweaty little things!! Aidan is 4 and he still has sweaty hands and feet and every night when I check on him in bed his pillow always has a sweat spot under his head. Elyssa is 10 months old and I cant get over how sweaty her hands and feet get!! I don't think it's anything to worry about as long as they dont have any other symptoms and are healthy.

I had exactly the same concerns with Joshua. His feet were so bad that you could see like pin head drops of sweat coming out of the pores in his feet! The doctor actually told me to make sure to air his feet and that it should settle down once his hormones are settled..... this went on for about 5 months and just now it has started to settle.

DD tends to get sweaty as well, the sweaty cot issue is probably related to the matress protectors as they are mainly PVC, hence not breathable, i actually put one on my side of the bed incase my waters broke in bed (which they did!!) and i found i got hot and sweaty lying on it!!

Yeah DH is the same and I have a really fast metabolism due to a slightly over active thyroid... so put 2 and 2 together and we get a sweaty baby i suppose!!
    Thanks again!
