DD is 3 months old and currently has her day sleeps in her Hushamok hammock but sleeps in her cot at night (10 hours straight). Strange sleeping arrangements you may think but it's for good reason. She suffers from silent reflux and struggled with day sleeps from about 5 weeks of age so when she was finally diagnosed at 10 weeks, we bought the hammock and she was put on Losec and we haven't looked back. Different baby with 24 hours!
Although I'm a firm believer of 'don't fix something that isn't broken', I must admit that I'm a bit scared of creating a rod for my back by continuing with the day sleeps in the hammock when she sleeps so well in her cot at night. We tried to get her down for her morning sleep (which is usually 3 hours) in the cot this morning but she wouldn't have a bar of it. After 45 minutes of unsuccessful attempts, we put her in her hammock and she was asleep within minutes. Hmmm
Should we just keep on trying the cot or should we just leave her be in her hammock and tackle the day sleeps in the cot when she outgrows the hammock?
TIA for any advice!

I really wouldn't stress yourself about it just yet! Enjoy her long naps atm I use our hammock for DD's day naps too (you're not strange LOL). I am thinking of transitioning her to her cot when she hits around 6 months of age, but we'll see how we go.
My sister had both of her bubs in a hammock for day naps and easily transitioned them to their cot when they were 6 months of age. My DS1 refused to sleep in his cot and stayed in his hammock until he was almost two. He then went straight into a toddler bed without any issues whatsoever .
I would honestly just wait until you think your DD is ready. To me it's not worth the stress atm when you might find she'll transition easily in a few months time
Thanks Trish! You're right, it's not worth stressing about so we are continuing with day sleeps in the hammock for now. I was a bit worried about when we go on holidays or when my parents are baby sitting but we can take the hammock away with us as it is only 8kgs and has a carrybag and my parents can always just snuggle her while she sleeps if she won't settle in their cot.
She's sleeps 10 hours straight overnight (last feed around 7pm and up around 5.30 - 6am!) so I really don't have much to complain about. I've just got a lot of the 'know-it-alls' in my ear about how I'm creating a rod for my own back. It's time to nod and smile and take their words of wisdom with a grain of salt
