Taking 15mth old to U2 concert?

Thanks again for you suggestions girls. It looks like my SIL's sister and her hubby (practically another aunty and uncle to DD) will be able to watch her. Just waiting to hear back from them to confirm it. If not, I'll book a sitter from the agency. Yay!

One of the girls from MG actually offered to watch DD but, I know it's stupid, I really don't want to put her out. I know she offered and we actually get along really well but I'm just one of those people that worry about making others lives difficult. It's an annoying trait and I really need to stop doing it!

2girls - that's great to hear! I wouldn't mind seeing Jay-Z but it's no big deal if we miss out as like you, we have seats and don't need to rush. Subi has noise restrictions too so most concerts there are finished by 10.30pm. I think we'll aim to be there around 7.30ish so that way I should be able to put DD to bed and hopefully her damn teeth won't give her too much grief.

We took DS2 to see Kings Of Leon when he was 2. He had ear muffs and ended up sleeping through most of the concert! lol

We actually bought him proper ear muffs which looked massive on his ears but adjusted well to his head and kept a lot of noise out.

LOL! That is good to know though as we got to quite a few concerts and we'd be happy to take DD to some of them. She is coming to Michael Buble with us in March but it's a winery so we can easily take her pram.

Did you have to buy a ticket for your DS? Did you wear him in a sling? I did check whether we'd need a ticket for DD for U2 just in case and it looks like we would. We haven't bought one for her for Michael Buble though as there is no information anywhere to say that 'infant/toddlers' need a ticket. It's also one of those concerts where you take your picnic, chairs, rugs, etc so I don't think it will be an issue. I've seen prams at those sort of gigs before. Fingers crossed anyway!

Our girl has been to a couple of concerts and has earmuffs, there is a shop in Leederville that sells them. i love having her there, when she was 15 moinths she came to the 3 day WOmandelaide festival. She slept on my back in the Ergo as we danced away to The Cat Empire. Twas awesome, I didn't take her to the Waifs but wished I did, Music means a lot to our family and with proper earmuffs it is lovely to invole the kids

We love going to live gigs and I really want to take DD along as often as possible. We saw both the Cat Empire and The Waifs when I was pregnant with DD so she's been a fan of both of them for a while, lol.

Can you PM the name of the shop in Leederville where you can get the earmuffs? Ta!

I am in Alfred Cove if you ever need anything. I am an ex school worker, DH has current working with children check and is ex childcare worker and early childhood/daycare worker (now a lecturer to teachers), Mum has been working Kindy-year 12 for 20 years too, so, if you ever need anything, you know what to do.

DS2 didn't need a ticket. I called the venue and they said we were fine to hold him. He has been to see Pearl Jam also and we didn't need a ticket for him for that either.
Like PollyA, music is a major thing in our family and our children experiencing live concerts is important. DS2 is going to see Justin Bieber next year, which apart from The Wiggles, Dora etc, is the one concert he has chosen for himself which I think is cute (definitely not my taste in music however!)

Hey Taurean looks like you've got it sorted for U2 this time but might be worth while having a chat with your MG girls and putting together little baby sitting syndicate. I think from you've said before you have become quite friendly with a few of the girls so culd work quite well. Basically they baby sit for you and you for them. That way you don't feel it is putting anyone out. It kinda works on debit/credit system so its fair and no one person is hogging it. We've talked about it in our group and I can send you email with what our proposed "rules" are. Know you've got your folks but nice to have a back up and someone that knows DD.

Have fun at the concert I saw them last time they were in Sydney and were awesome.

Well U2 was bloody amazing!! And I'm very glad we didn't try to take DD! It was so loud (but incredible) and so nice to have some adult time. I had a few wines while watching an amazing concert with DH and my parents. It was bliss!

My SIL and our 16yr old niece ended up giving their tickets to their sister & BIL (aunty & uncle), who have two litte boys, and they watched the three kids. It worked out perfectly.
