Teaching DD to replace her dummy

DD is 8mths and I want to teach her to replace her own dummy at night rather than me. Does anyone have suggestions on the best way to do it? If the dummy is placed in her hand she does put it in her mouth. It is just how to teach her how to find the dummy in the cot.

I bought one of the happy baby glow in the dark ones, that helped us heaps even tho DS was only an occasional cry in the night for dummy child, but he hasn't done it since we change

DS still sometimes cant find his dummy in his cot in the middle of the night.. i guess they dont have night vision Have tried the glow in the dark ones but the glow only lasts about an hour after youve held it to light so thats no help for those wee hours of the morning. Only thing i can suggest is maybe put a few extra dummies in her cot before you go to bed.
