Tell me I'm not the only one!!

Who's nearly 3 year old is driving then bonkers!!
WILL NOT EAT! She lives on fruit, cheese sangas and oven chops and nuggets! WILL NOT try anything new and will not eat what I cook for tea!

WILL NOT TOILET TRAIN! She tries a megga tantrum at the point of hysterical if I try to get her to sit on the toilet or potty...

WILL NOT GO TO BED! She has to go to sleep on the couch and I move her.... She gets hysterical if I put her to bed awake... Yet goes down fine for day sleeps.., have tried music, laying with her, night lights....

Is my DD destined to wear nappies and sleep on the couch till she's 21?!?

How did you get through or achieve the above??

I hear you!

DS1 doesnt eat a wide range of food. Bannanas is only fruit, loves sandwiches and toast, nuggets and chips and pasta and rice! Other things are hit and miss and vary!

TT haha he likes to go to toilet, eg takes off nappy climbs up turns around flush get off!! If we sit him on their he screams blue murder! Potty is a hat!!!

Sleeping is ok for him generally goes to bed easily at night most nights has not had a day sleep since he turned 2 grrr

Yes I think you have my DD2!! I have to bribe her to go to bed (and stay there!)

She actually told me she likes me changing her nappies After that we took away the potty and the toilet seat and stopped making any reference to the potty/TT at all. Totally ignored it. So yesterday she asked to wee on the potty, she did and today she did 2 wees. Maybe try the reverse psychology approach - if she thinks you don't care about it she might do it?

Mine does not respond to bribery, which is very very annoying! Not even a freddo frog or a sticker will get her to use the potty. Though she is now telling me after she has done a wee, so hopefully we will get there soon.

Day sleeps are a thing of the past unfortunately, but at least she goes to bed at night ok.

I hope it is possible for a child to grow and be healthy on a diet of olives, bread and butter, sausages, chicken nuggets, and bananas. Saves on the grocery bill though.

DD2 wouldn't be bribed to use the potty either - she just didn't care enough about anything.

Bed is different though I can bribe her with the threat of not going to dancing/swimming/Nannas/friends place etc the next day - she will respond to that.

DS is only just 2, but he's always been picky with food. He's a nuggets, chips (hot chips), cheese, apples and doesnt wanna try new stuff (tried him with something new today and he just doesn't wanna eat it)

Then again, my DS is picky with everything, to the point of not wanting to talk!

Oh Hun I can totally relate... Different issues but same type of thing.
Personally I find 3 SOOOOOOO much harder than 2...

She will get there, sleep was and still is an issue, often DH will fall asleep in there with her... We have no magical trick, (sorry) but we talk a lot about going to bed during the day and how Happy Mummy is when she doesn't keep getting up.
Tonight however she was yelling out for me for over an hour for various things (I go in each time)... It's easier if I can spend the time settling her making sure she has her toys/light/music/been to the toilet etc (all the things she calls me back for)

It will pass, I hope!

I'm doing a parenting course ATM and one of the things they said is that the "odd" years are generally the tough ones and the "even" years are the ones where they want to be helpful and are more pleasant.

Or was it the other way round?

We have massive bedtime issues here too. You're not alone.

I refuse to let the food thing get to me. It used to. A lot. But, I figure, no child will starve themselves if there is food available. I refuse, absolutely refuse, to make separate meals, so if she doesn't eat dinner, she doesn't eat it. She has to go to her room and sit quietly though if she doesn't. It has gotten to the point where as soon as we say dinner is ready, she will sometimes go straight to her room without even looking at dinner. I offer no other food choices for the night. At least 50% of the time she goes without dinner. She is still growing and appears healthy though.

If only I could now get into this headspace about potty training.

dd, ripped open 3 supposed chrissy presents because I was cleaning the sparwe bed room.

one which she already has and she promised to clean up if she can open these pots and pans coz pink is her fav colour in the world.
I made her promise to pack it up if I let her open it after an hrs worth of tears and ascreaming.

food? Is chocolate considered food?

mum I want something . . . Man those words are scary coz it usually means she wants to pull out another humgus mess.

oh and sleeping arrangement? I think she will be cosleeping with us until 21 also.

Oh hun i am right there with you.

DD1 and food , i had fail safe meals but even those seem to be out the window at the moment.
If she was allowed to live on Feta, Fruit and Teddy Bears biscuits she would, she even has days where she wont touch nuggets or her favorite spaghetti.

The TTing all i can say is in her own time, DD1 started TTing in summer last year just after her 2nd b'day, of her own accord and she has only just now been fully TT'd.
I put a potty in the lounge, allow as much nappy off time as she wants and made a potty chart.
Outside of that it's all been at her discretion.

Going to bed, DD wont have day sleeps anymore and hasn't for months but there are nights she will be up til 9:30+ just relaxing watching TV with her dad and cracking it when we go to put her to bed, other nights you could say go to bed and she would just go in and put herself down.

I guess all we can do is remember "this too shall pass"but that doesn't mean it's not frustrating.. i get attitude already and she's driving me BONKERS.

I'd like to know how to get through the same things! DS is only 15 days younger and he's been doing the same things - toilet raining is a no go, he will pull his nappy off when outside though and happily runs around with nothing on his bottom half! Bedtime is usually ok, but only if he gets to run around outside all day.

Food - he'll eat fruit, biscuits, sausages, pancakes, jam or vegemite sandwiches and wheatbix. I have started getting him to eat pureed veggies for lunch now though - he won't touch whole ones and definitely won't eat them with dinner. Lunch time is the ONLY time I have been able to get him to eat the pureed ones. I give him a container of them with a spoon and send him outside with it he'll usually eat some of it.

Not much help sorry.
