    Think she is constipated...WTD?

I don't know if it solids (this week we have tried rice cereal and pumpkin which she liked a lot so has had more of the rice cereal than she has before, but she only had it a few times...) or going to step 2 formula, but the last few days her poos have been like a ball..about the size of a large marble, they aren't dry and crumbly, but do seem to be hurting to get out. She cried quite a bit last night trying to get her to go to sleep, I think maybe she was trying to poo but couldn't, but it seems like a really big change in consistency, and also volume of poo (not as much as she used to).

I noticed just then when I changed her (ball of poo) that there is now a tiny raised lump near her anus..could this be a hemarroid?? Should I take her to the doctor and get it checked out?

Also what can I do to try and loosen up her stools a bit more? I do offer her water a few times a day and she does drink it, I gave her stewed apples yesterday and have stopped the rice cereal for the moment, we had yoghurt today. Should I go back to step 1 formula and see if that helps?

Pear or prune juice can often help. You should dilute it if it's bought off the shelf.
    Hope she feels better soon.

Thanks Crystal will grab some tomorrow.

Will be taking her to the doctor I think if I can get in tomorrow, or at least see the chemist, had to kind of 'help' her tonight..she tried to do one when she went to bed and was screaming in pain..when I wiped her there was a bit of blood so I'd just prefer to get her checked out rather than let it go over the weekend.
I hope she feels better soon too, poor little thing it must hurt so much

DD1 was exactly the same, she had the screaming, the blood, and the lumpy bit around her bottom -broke my heart

We used coloxyl a few times, then prune juice diluted but didn't like the effects of that (gross man) so we changed her formula to goats milk and she was a lot better.

We figured out later on that it was her formula that was causing it because it had too much iron in it - goats milk didn't have as much and is apparently easily digested (as compared to cows milk formula)

Once we figured it out, we changed her to a cows milk formula with the lowest amount of iron in it. Then she was fine.

Vaalia yoghurt was my son's saviour after months month months of severe constipation and agony.

I hope you can find something to help. It's terrible seeing your little ones in pain
