Thumb Sucker Alert!!
DS has never been a 'dummy' boy, instead he goes for his thumb....
Today I noticed his thumb is red with broken skin.....
Any hints or tricks to either stop the thumb sucking or should I just moisturise his thumb to help repair the skin?

A friend of mine's DD got eczema on the thumb she sucked. They would put a bandaid on over the ointment and she learnt to stop pretty soon.

if u find out how let me know!! DD2 has a huge calous(sp??) on her thumb from doing it. when it splilts and bleeds i put lasinoh (nipple cream) on it because it can be ingested, takes a few days to heal but does the trick

My DD has started the thumb sucking and we growl at her everytime she sticks it in we say "No!" and take her hand out. I'm praying thats all we need to do otherwise im half tempted to sticky tape socks to her hands

I'm a bit relieved that DS isn't the only one - but at the same time sorry you're all in the same boat (even intermittedly)...
I'll give the pawpaw cream a crack first, I've heard great things about it.
I guess it was easy taking a dummy away from DD (first born) and I thought I was lucky to have a non-dummy baby, now I'm not so sure
