    Toddler's first bed?

    Hey all,

Well, dp and I have come to the decision that Ava-Jayde is too big for her cot and we need to get her a bed. I've had a look at like your usual furniture stores ie: Superamart etc and I don't really want a boring old single bed kwim? I want something a bit nicer. So I was just wondering where you bought your toddler's first bed from? (a store that we'd have in brisbane/sunshine coast would help).

i got Noah's from Snooze... it is v lovely but it is just a king single white bed..
i think some people get specific toddler beds from target etc - ones that are themed etc if that's what you are after..

Have a look around and see if there is specialty kids bed shop. There are a few here in Melbourne. I was really struggling to find a nice, solid (and not too expensive!) bed for DS, and then someone suggested I try our nearest kids bed shop. They had HEAPS of good stuff, and reasonably priced too. I am really, really happy with the bed we bought him.

Mind you, I think it's a lot easier to find nice beds for girls . I have a friend who bought her DD's bedroom stuff from Bev Marks, and loves it. Don't know if you have that store up there, there's a number of them in Melb. HTHs.

We're looking at toddler beds for DS and have been looking at IKEA (do you have Ikea there?). They are much, much cheaper than the bed shops. Not sure if their sizing is standard though, might be hard to get sheets and stuff.

I've looked at Ikea and snooze and they're sort of like my last resort, i really want somethign that's going to last and teh beds I looked @ Ikea were just those crapy metal frame ones, which I dont' want she'll wack her head on it lol. I looked up a website called awesome beds and it's a kids specialty store. Reasonably priced and even ava was like :O at some of the beds. They have a dora bed hahaha she wants that one, don't think so. But there's a nice Toddler's first bed on there that is pretty cheap. Gosh, this buying kids things is never ending isn't it!
