Both of my last 2 bubs have had this dry, flaky skin problem. I used either a natural massage oil or lotion and this seemed to help with the dryness. The skin just has to go through a few renewal phases to fully shake the flakes, so to speak, and then you'll find beautiful healthy skin appears within a couple of weeks. It does seem to get really bad there for a while, but it's just the skin renewing itself.

I used these products and found them all to be great: Aromababy lotion and massage oil, Gaia massage oil, moisturiser and bath wash, and Natural Instincts. The last two brands are easily purchased at your local chemist...the aromababy i bought online. I found the oils really nourishing and the bubs love the massage they get while ur applying it

    smells so nice

    Hi girls,

i know Johnsons and johnsons smells so nice but have you ever wondered just what is that smell? That smell is hundreds or synthetic compounds that make up the scent and there is nothing natural about it. Artificial fragrance is one of the most irritating ingredients in skin creams etc and babies skin is much thinner and more sensitive.

I have been using a natural Australian range called Little Joey Organics I got it online from evie lala, it's all Australian and contains only essential oils for their scent (child safe) and it's just so good to know I am not exposing my kids to any dangerous chemicals.

Xavier as you know was overcooked, but I was of the understanding it's perfectly normal for a bubs to have some dry skin.

I too was told not to bath too often and that products weren't needed. one of my midwives was even allergic to johnsons and johnsons .

I've also been told that a little bicarb soda in the bathwater can sometimes be good.
