Hi, I just wanted some advice on what is a good vaporiser to get for my 11 month old who has just developed her first cough Our local chemist has a vicks on and a hippo one but the girl didn't know anything about the hippo one only that the vicks one was a bit noisy?? The hippo one has a 5 year warranty though??? Thanks

I have the vicks one as well - it has been getting a workout this week in our house.

I really like it and you don't have to remember to switch it off. When it runs out of liquid, if you don't unplug it, there is no problem. It means we don't have to sneak into the kids room in the middle of the night to turn it off when the water runs out. It also runs for about 16 hours before the water runs out.

I haven't noticed the noise - except for a slight boiling sound after the water has heated.

I am really happy with our vicks vapouriser. We paid about $50 for it and I saw it on special for that price this week at a local chemist - I have seen them for more, but I wouldn't pay more than $50

We have the Ta'av too, and I haven't noticed any sound. I use the Vicks solution in it and haven't had any issues. It switches itself off when it runs out and was cheaper than the Vicks one.

we bought the hippo one and i got it over the vicks (same price) basically for sound.
    it is practically silent!.

and i am shocking with noises at night so i needed it to be very very quiet!

the vicks one i was told you could only use vicks brands vapouriser products or the warranty was voided.

The hippo you can use what ever you wanted in it

Go a taav one too, doesnt seem to be that loud.
I was told to just put water in. The pharmacist actually told me that those eculyptus smelling stuff you put in actually does nothing to unblock the sinuses!!! Its the actual steam that does the unblocking

Even though she told me that i still went and bought a bottle coz mentally i think it is unblocking my nose ehehh.
