    Waking screaming

    Hi Ladies,

Daycare pulled me aside yesterday to let me know that Kaitlyn had woken screaming from her nap and was inconsolable(SP?). They basically wanted to know if anything stressful was happening at home....way to make me feel good!.

Anyway ..home life is always wonderful - no changes here ..DH and I get along so well our friends always mentioned how happy we are ..just the same old same old routines and days here.Daycare they have had changes with the carers but she has stuck close to the two that have been there since the beginning of the year and tends not to go near the other two.

She has also started chewing her nails this week (ARGH). Maybe stress related ..or perhaps as one of her carers chews her nails and she is really mimicking people at the moment.

Anyway want to see if anyone else has had this happen to their wee one?. I am worried now as I dont want my baby to be stressed over sometihng. And if she is, I really want to work out what it could be!. I personally think she had a bad dream but to pull me aside and tell me about it makes me think it must have seemed bad enough for them to worry a little.

    Any thoughts?

Cass, to be honest, it sounds like they are maybe being a little over cautious? (Which is good that they are so aware, but..........)

I remember when Olivia was around 16 months she went through a few weeks of waking up screaming and inconsolable.........it was horrible for all of us, but looking back, I was heavily pg with Charlie, and she, I think, picked up on that. And also at around the that age, I noticed with Charlie that he started crying out, & I am SURE it was bad dreams.

These little toddler types go through so much extreme learning awareness at this age, I am sure it is somehow connected?

Fingers crossed that she isn't stressed. Hopefully it was just a one off?

    Hi Cass

I wouldn't worry too much, Danielle just went through the same thing. She's done it three or four times now and when I happens she clings to me for an hour or so before she starts to calm down and wants to play again. I think for Danielle it was just bad dreams, she's normally a really good sleeper and there is nothing stressful going on in our lives.

I've also been told it could be something as simple as pins and needles from sleeping arkwardly. Imagine how you would react waking up with that kind of feeling and not knowing what it was.

Hope this helps and try not to worry too much about it.
