We are the same as Naomi - only stopped using the breathing/alarm option fulltime on our monitor when DD moved into her toddler bed - last week, at 22 months. I just couldn't sleep well without the alarm set but since the control has been taken out of my hands, I'm good with it I do switch it on randomly at night though (through the settings on the parents console) but I have to quickly turn it off if I hear DD climbing out of her bed! We initially thought it would be a good way to know if she was wandering but she's quite noisey so we get warning anyway. I still like seeing the little pendulum swing on my monitor though so I use it a bit, lol.

Can you just keep using it and get another monitor for the next baby? Or get a cheaper monitor for your DD that tells you the temp only? There are several that do just that.

I'll still be using a monitor for DD when our next baby arrives in December. She'll be 27-28 months by then. We'll use the Angel Care sensor pads on the new baby and a cheaper monitor with a temp gauge for DD. Until then, I'm gradually weaning myself by leaving the alarm off after she's woken throughout the night. I certainly wouldn't have been game enough to stop using it at 13 months though so don't feel like you need to stop just yet, you're not alone!
