i cant remember how much mine weighed at a month but i know the MCN was wrong!

She said DD1 was underweight at one month
DD2 was overweight at one month

yet at one month old DD1 actually weighed more - go figure lol!

I do remember though i was told around 250g a week is ideal to gain that may have changed though

    Hi, there,

Congrats on your new bub. Finding out what our babies weighed at 1 month won't tell you much about what your baby should weigh - they are all individual,
But, as a rule of thumb, it's very normal for babies to lose 10% of their birthweight in the days after birth. You might expect them to to regain their birthweight by 2 weeks - maybe 3 if there are known complications such as cesarean, jaundice etc.
After they have regained their birthweight you would expect a baby to gain 150-250 g per week up until 3 mnths (it slows down after that) Over 100g per week may be OK. You would have to look carefully at the feeding.
Milk supply is elastic - supply = demand. The more you feed the more you make. If there is a problem it is usually baby not taking enough milk rather than mum not making enough milk. It's a problem that in almost every case can be solved
