There's a big variation in our Mothers Group (though I haven't been for a while). Some of the kids (all about 30 months old) speak very clearly whereas DD uses lots of words but often doesn't use whole words - necklace is still "nay nay" and window is "no no" for example. She can put a 4 word sentence together though. I like to think she is going for quantity rather than quality at the moment.

I'm sure a kindy teacher told me that the variations even out by about age 3 when they should pretty much all be on the same level for everything including motor skills. She's basically a monkey who has to climb everything she sees so I guess she can't be good at everything.
