What age started shampoo and what brand do you recommend?

Where do you get the aromababy/gaia? Health food shop, pharmacy, online?

I got Gaia in a pharmacy MD, but boutique baby shops often have those ranges. Also can get online. Is it wierd we are conversing in two places?! lol

I get it at the pharmacy. Pretty sure you could get it online too. I've tried Gaia - I found it dried out DS's skin. Haven't tried it on DD, we were given aromababy as a present, and I've kept using it.

Gaia is pretty easy to find, most pharmacies have it and so do some of the large supermarkets now, I see.

For Aromababy, the best thing is to go to their website...they have a comprehensive list of stockists so you can pick one close to you. I don't know if it's just me but I just don't see it as often as I used to...that's why I've gone with Baby Sebamed for the moment (but I do use the Gaia detangler which is lovely, I've never used the Gaia shampoo).

MD we use Gaia here too and love it. Woolworths up here stocks it now but I normally get it at the chemist.

I used baby shampoo on DD1 til she was about 4. She didn't have much hair, so I didn't worry too much.
I think DD2 would've been about 18 months, but she had alot more hair.
They use the J&J kids shampoo now. Strawberry tangle free one.

I started using Gaia organic shampoo from when they had enough hair, usually just once a week. I love the Gaia products.

my midwife advised only to wash baby's hair with water, up to age of one - so we did that.

since she turned one, we have used Gaia baby shampoo and MooGoo Hair Conditioning Cream, twice a week.

the JJ products make me nervous, even the ones marked "sensitive" have ingredients in them that i don't want on her skin. Since having bilbs, i'm reading the ingreditnets lists much more carefully (the JJ "sensitive" wipes gave her nappy rash) trying to avoid
- parabens (preservative that causes skin irritations)
- SLS (i discovered that the supermarket toothpastes - most of them use this, and virtually all the supermarket shampoos use it)

Coles and woolworths stock organic baby hair products, Gaia and another one, a word like AVACADO??

health food shops are worth a try, but even there, you need to read the ingredients list, i still find products IN HEALTH FOOD SHOPS that have parabens and SLS.

Gaia, gaia, gaia.

I've used it on Daniel since he was newborn. It smells fantastic and they used it at the hospital.

I could only get it as the pharmacy but now Coles sell it. I've also used Avado - that's mega nice too. They don't have Sodium Laureth Sulphate in them. Your baby will get sick of you smelling them all the time though. I've had my face pushed away several times with a firm (but cute) "no".

DD had masses of hair but we didn't use anything except water on her until she was 12 months. We used the Jurlique stuff on her after that (it was a present - too expensive to buy!) and that lasted about 12 months. Since then I have been using Organic Care on her hair (same as on mine) as her hair is now down to her waist when wet!! I also use the Eco.kid leave in tonic (as her hair is curly) which also apparently repels hair lice.

hehe - aromababy actually doesn't have a fragrance.. so not sure why its called aromababy!

LOL I know...but it's just Aromababy's newborn range which is fragrance free. Their "regular" stuff has a lovely light, fresh fragrance.

Gaia has a much stronger smell, much more typically "essential oil-ish" IYKWIM.

I haven't really checked out their entire range.. might go have a look. I've just kept getting the baby wash coz the ingredients are similar to what we would make ourselves, same with their creams. Just we're too lazy to do it hehe. So we're really happy with Aromababy.

I second the Natural Instincts - it has a lavender smell and you don't need much so it goes a long way. You can get it at most chemists these days.
