ok, bubs 6 days old, YAY!!
but she has like scaly bumpy skin on her head, starts just above her eyebrows and disapears into her hairline. it changes so is hard to explain, it can look anything from pimply bumps, to peely skin, and can look like flaky skin, to red and pimply looking, all in the course of a day!
i hoping it clears up and is just a sensitivity or something, but df said he thinks it could be exhmah (sp?) as his sister has it and he remembers it starting when she was realy small..... im all for waiting to see if it gose away being so young probably just her skin oils ect sorting out, but dont want to just wait it out if it could be something more.... i remember DD1 had a sensitivity to most bath producs, but the rash would clear up after only using water to wash her, she had a bath in hospital at 1 day and they put jhonsons in it, but i doubt it was that as its still there...
I don't use ANY products in the bath with Summer, except goats milk soap when her eczema flares up. It drives me nuts that hospitals use J&J, coz its shocking for drying out babies skin.
Sounds like dry skin, but unless its scaley or itchy, I wouldn't worry about eczema just yet.
If you like I'll put a pic on fb of Summer's back. It was nasty for a few months, just from a couple of singlets accidentally going through a powdered clothes wash. I use nothing to wash her nappies & clothes except water.
Sounds to me like the peely skin. Its kinda bubbles a bit before it peels. It is VERY common with newborns, especially term and overdue babies. My DD2 has it atm and has since about the same age.. shes loosing a layer of skin all over.. both my other kids did also. Not much you can do for it.. i just put a bit of sorbelene on it, but once the layer comes off then theyll still have that beautiful newborn skin under it.
