Georgia has been saying bub for about a month now and in the last couple of weeks if I leave the room or if she is on the floor and wants to be picked up she will say mum mum mum mum until I come back into the room or pick her up. Does this count as first words?
aww wow she is a mummies girl so I can understand first word being mum.
I always thought she would just say dadda or something, actually I thought her first word would have been hello because I always say it to her when I get her out of bed etc. Probably not as easy to learn though.
Yep. Jazzy said bub-bub but that was her playing with sounds, but her actual first word was mum-mum-mum, I counted as her 'first word' that she understood eg. When mum walks away and I scream MUM-MUM-MUM-MUM she'll come back! YAY! lol
I would count it too. Ds has just started saying dada, bubba and mum mum. I dont think he understands what/who they are but i am still proud and count it as his first words
Thanks for the feedback I will count it as first word, because when DH is holding her and says where is mum she will turn to look for me so she knows what it means. Such clever amazing little things they are, I am in awe everyday at the things they learn.
