DS (who just turned 2) tonight decided he wanted to take a truck and a little digger to bed with him. I wasn't sure whether i should let him or not.
the other day he insisted on having his truck for his day sleep and i discovered he'd fallen asleep on his tile floor with his truck next to his little hand lol it did look cute but rather uncomfy!
Anyhoo, do you let the kids take toys to bed with them???
DS generally only has a few books and some teddies in his room ... it's pretty sparse due to a little destructor phase he went through when his sister arrived lol so all toys are out int eh family area.
Yes DS1 (3 and 1/2) takes so much crap to bed!! Most are soft but regularly has hard things as well. Has 2 musical seahorses, penguin, alien from Toy story, soft nemo, bath toy nemo, buzz lightyear, copy of his party invite, and often trains, cars, books!!
DS2 (2) is not the same he has musical seahorse and soft penguin. His choice not fussed by having anything in bed with him.
He has two bears that he sleeps with. Sometimes he tries to take his Thomas trains to bed (once his six faves) but I try and discourage that as he ends up playing with them rather than going to sleep. We now put all the trains to sleep in their shed before bed.
However if it's not a problem or waking him up I wouldn't stress.
If it helps them sleep and is not a danger to them, then I let them have it. Sometimes there are more toys on the bed than there are in any other part of the room.
Yes DD has been having 'stuff' in bed ever since moved to a big bed at about 21 months - if is something I would rather she didn't sleep with I might remove once she is asleep. She often falls asleep with a book on her head, and we know she is well and truly asleep when hear the clunk of it falling to the floor.
Yep, my DD (22months) takes various bits and pieces to bed with her! At the moment its Elmo and an angry birds stuffed toy, previously it was a dolly and a cuddly - it seems to change all the time! I think its kinda cute, and as long as she grows out of it by the time she gets married its all good
thanks girls. i won't be the toy nazi then. i was worried he might play rather than sleep, especially at night
he already has his sooky and seahorse and is very PER-ti-cu-lllaarrrrr about what pillow goes where and if mummy and daddy are allowed to use them during story time! seriously, where do these kids get this stuff lol.
I am loving hearing what these strange little beings take to bed with them lol. wsiwyg - hahaha love the book hitting the floor
Moo has in his bed at all times - a panda, a bunny, a giraffe, a Peter Rabbit, a torch shaped like a tiger. Has had them for a long time.
But for at least a year he has also been taking a select few cars to bed, at xmas he adds tree decorations into his nightly haul! I usually let him take 4 or 5 and he picks them out himself. He does stuff around in there with them but it works out well.. the threat of a car removal service always does the trick in this house
