What do you do if you lose your voice?

I barely have more than a croak right now & I have no idea what to do with Zander LOL! He looks at me like I'm crazy when I talk to him!! Luckily daddy is home today & tomorrow with the long weekend, but what if it's not back by Tuesday when it's just the two of us?

LOL.. Chelsea laughs at me when i have a croaky voice....lol

But she is also at an age where i dont really need to talk to her cos she cant talk back like Zander can.

Not sure what to do im sorry... no help!

ROFL Sarah speaking as someone who lost her voice only last week I guess it won't matter too much. My boys thought it was quite funny and I'm sure they played up a bit because I couldn't yell at them.
Anything that you need to get him to do "now" make sure he can see your face when you talk to him. I had to ask Mason to brush his teeth about 4 times in a row because he couldn't tell the urgency in my voice IYKWIM.
I'm sure you don't have to yell at Zander but be wary that it hurts if you do that . I was late to a lot of places last week...

I lost my voice when pg with Tom - Jack must have been about 16 or 17 months. It didn't take him long to realise that I couldn't tell him "no" so he deliberately touched things he wasn't supposed to. Just touch mind you, not do any real damage. Cheeky thing! I think he thought it was a game. But we did manage with me whispering to him and using actions. Kids are very perceptive, they know what you want from them even without much in the way of words.

ETA The worst bit was when DH rang to see how we were managing - uh I have no voice, talking on the phone is a little difficult!

I lose my voice most nights when putting DS down, it's so raspy and I an barely get the words out after half an hour!

We do baby signing, so I can in theory just sign without saying the words, but that would require him understanding the signs... but then he doesn't understand the words either, so why worry?

Can you make it a game? Like charades or something? You can't do that all day, but it may work for a little while. Or ask him to read to you instead of you reading to him?

oh no Sarah!!! I hope it comes back for tomorrow...

I haven't lost my voice yet, but DH did and it was hard for him because Matilda loves to ignore us at the best of times, let alone when she can't hear what he's trying to say.
