What does your 12 - 18month old have for brekky?

Just up for some creative healthy ideas for my DD's breakfast. Currently she has her bottle of milk and smooshed apples through her cereal. Occasionally topped off with some good ol' vegemite on toast - such an aussie kid I know!

I'm just thinking its getting a little boring, same old same old - or shouldn't I worry?? I have heard that weetbix has too much salt - is that applicable for the kids version of weetbix (box with wiggles on it)?

Would love suggestions though for more fun healthy brekkies

Ive always alternated my girls breakfasts....cant see the point in giving them the same ole boring thing each morning.

    Some things on our menu:

    Raisin toast
    crumpets with vege or jam
    porridge
    egg on toast
    beans on toast
    crossaints (only on spec occassions)
    banana pikelets
porridge (we get the uncle tobys satchets - they have a variety of flavours, and honestly takes 20 secs in the microwave)
    Cheerios.....

i give her what she likes which is a weetbix with half a banana mashed in.... followed by either toast or an english muffin.... jam or vegemite...

sometimes raison muffins or raison toast...rarely anything else as she'll have a few mouthfuls and is then no longer interested...

sometimes i give her a handful of dried cornflakes just to keep her busy...
    she loves em!

have tried scrambled eggs on toast but she looks at the egg and is not keen at all... maybe one day.

i don't see anything wrong with having the same thing or only a slight variation in the same thing each day, as long as its healthy... when you think about it, we probably also have pretty much our set thing for breaky each day, with maybe bacon and eggs on the weekend (if we're lucky)... for me breakfast is a boring meal that isn't something i look forward to like lunch or dinner, but thats just me.... if i eat breakfast its pretty much the same thing, either a cereal, or toast/muffin.... i couldn't imagine making up something different for breaky each day, i just don't have the time or incling to do that, i try to get thru it with minimal fuss!

We often have weetbix as DS loves it & I say what ever works. I mix it up a bit, smashed banana, or diced peach or pear in it. He also loves it when I put in sultanas...he looooves his sultanas.
Otherwise we have veg on toast, he loves raisin toast, muesli is another favourite. Ahhh, sometimes english muffins, just tried crumpets recently and on special weekends pancakes.

Well DD1 will only have a bottle and refuses breaky....so we have an early morning tea to make up for it.
Normally fruit, cheese or sometimes toast and vegemite!

DD2 just a bottle as she refuses solids full stop still

I wouldn't worry too much about sameness - if they get bored they'll let you know and as long as he gets plenty of variety through the day it's not a problem.

I eat the same thing for brekky every single day for years...I'm a bit attached to it lol. I think brekky is a very "routine meal" for lots of people.

My DD has had weetbix for breakfast every day for 4 years. God FORBID there isn't any in the house she goes off her trolley!

DS is a bit pickier. Some days he just has boob. Other days he'll have 1 weetbix and some fruit (strawbs or banana). Other days he'll have toast and veg, or raisin toast. He seems to like a bit more variety.

Mine alternate as well, generally its weetbix and toast. Other times its eggs on toast, cornflakes with toast, other cereals.... fruit.

Every Sunday is pancake day in our house. Always.

Weetbix everyday in this house. Kameron does 3, the other 2 boys do 2 LOL. If I don't serve up weetbix all hell breaks loose.

I also have a wheetbix kid! If she doesn't get her wheeties then look out! Usually it is followed by a piece of toast with vegemite. Every couple of weeks she has fruit toast which she will inhale We also do eggs on the weekends but wheetbix is the all time fav in our house.

i try different things too. some days are better than others regarding the amount she eats!

wheetbix with milk and fruit (blueberries, banana or grated apple)
yoghurt with rafferty's baby cereal mixed in with fruit
    semolina
    porridge
toast with cream cheese or vegemite
    fruit toast
    baked beans
    scrambled eggs
    french toast

thats all i can think of. Mainly its one of the cereals where I can measure how much she actually eats. Its sometimes hard to work out if she has eaten the toast or smooshed it and fed it to the dog!

Marcus and Jason were Weetbix kids everyday! Marcus can do 2-4 and Jason will only do 2!

Jason has now moved to crunchy nut or nutrigrain and marcus also does toast and veg, crumpets and veg, muffins and veg or what ever daddy is eating!
