DS has always had bath at 7pm, into bed by 7.30 (although I may be still reading a story at this point).

Even when it took him hours to go to sleep (he WAS tired, he was just in a lot of pain, before people go on about "if they're not asleep in 20 minutes they aren't tired", which I HATE, try living my life and say that) we did bath at 7pm unless he asked for it earlier. And he does sometimes.

For both my boys (DS1's 23months & DS2's 3months)- i do there bath around 4.30-5pm, dinner 6.30pm (pretty much when DH walks in toe door)- by now DS2 is either sleeping or happily watching us in his rocker, then the bed routine at 7.30pm (DS1- teeth cleaning, pj's, nappy, cuddles, DS2- nappy, into sleep suit and sleeping bag then last b'feed)- by the time these are complete its usually close to 8pm for DS1 and close to 8.30pm for DS2 (cause i try to make it a good feed as DS2 sleeps right through til 6-7am now so want to make sure he has a full belly and its more comfy for me).

This has always been our routine- even for DS1 when he was a newborn. I'm thinking about changing it to the bath after dinner- as of course it makes more sense, but its always just worked doing bath early as that way DH can have some play and cuddle time between dinner and bed time with the boys (which is usually only 30mins by the time dinners finished). But DS1 doesn't make that much mess eating anymore so its not so bad, but it won't be long til DS2 starts solids so might have to change the routine then.

Ive only just started giving DD solids properly (meaning i do it twice a day now) i have been feeding her too late i think, 5.30-6pm so im going to start giving it to her at about 4.30-5pm, she only usually has one nap a day *sigh* so by the end of the day she is very tired. i give her a bath at about 6.30pm and then give her a bottle, sometimes (if she's really tired) she'll fall asleep on the bottle other times she has those really droopy gorgeous eyes that plead.. put me to bed mummy lol. then i put her to bed at about 7pm
ive tried stretching it out btu its hard when Daddies home i can stretch it out coz he can occupy her better than i can coz then she sleeps later in the morning. But yeh, im pretty happy with our routine, ill be trying to stretch her out to 7.30pm in teh next few weeks tho, coz these 5.30am wake ups are not cool LOL

I'm with Kim it took months for DS to 'get' into any sort of routine and at your bub's age we started about 6am but he wouldn't be in bed for the night until after 11pm. By that I mean he would go down about 6.30pm and then wake up at 8.30 and want to be awake if that makes sense?

I started DS pretty much as soon as i could bath him comfortably (had a ceaser) didnt matter when he slept the only routine he had was that he was to have a bath with his sister so it was all out of the way. Now at 4months our routine is
    5-530 feed
    6-6:30 a little farax
    7- bath
    7:30-8 feed and bed
