    Fleur has said it beautifully...

I left DS with my mum and dad when he was 15 months old, I dropped him off there at 5pm and they brought him back at 11am, was the first sleep in I had had in all that time!!
I expressed 2 bottles for him, as he still feeds occasionally over night but, mum said he only time he cried was when she took her mobile off him, he woke at 4am and she tried to give him a bottle, he threw it away and drank some water and went back to sleep! he doesnt do that for me!
    so he was fine...

Thanks Corelly, no freaked out phone calls or anything over night so Ava must be doing well, bet the little monkey slept in for nanna aswell.. while i was at home sleeping on the couch cos her sister was being a PITA...

I think a trial run is a good idea but my mum also said on FB last night that A will be fine as she is with someone she knows and loves.... i guess if they are comfortable with the person they forget you in 5min... in my case Ava didn't care, playing with Nanna is fun so C-YA MUM!

Im not even close to letting DD have a night away yet. Shes 18.5 months old. But I cant handle giving her to someone during the day, let alone the night, hahahahaha so maybe its just me?

ps.. I would miss her more than she would miss me lol

Completely agree with all; when you feel it's ok then it's ok.

I left DS with my mum overnight for first time when he was 6 or 7 weeks old - i won a night at the Hyatt and as we were unable to BF anyone could bottle him - but as someone else said; i think my mum is the closest thing to me he could get. As much as i love a break the overnight stays make me realise how connected I am to him and I usually run to meet him when separated (espec overnight) - he however is completely unfazed. LOL

Thanks for all the replies everyone. It's a real mixture isn't it? I don't think I'm ready yet. I've left her in my mum's care for a few times when DH have gone out for dinner and DD has been absolutely fine, she loves mum heaps. But an overnighter? It'll have to wait
