Question Who should we see about it? GP? Skin specialist?

    Hi,

My 6mth old baby girl has had a dry, pinky red area underneath her eye for a couple of weeks now and it doesnt' seem to be getting any better (or worse). It could be ezcema but I'm not too sure? It looks a bit raised too like if you look carefully looks a bit pimply and does flare up some times during the day and goes more red if that makes sense.

I want to get it checked out. It's very close to her eye. Who should I take her to see? If i take her to our GP she'll probably will just prescribe some old cream to put on it but it's very close to her eye and I don't want to put any creams near it just incase.
Should we see a skin specialist perhaps? I don't really know what I should do. Paediatrician???

    TIA

at least if you take her to the gp she can tell you what it is - even if she prescribes some yucky cream you dont have to use it

GP is the first stop, she can give you a referral to a specialist if you feel you need it xoxoxo

Thanks girls. it's so hard when you don't know what it is huh?!? I thought whatever it was would have cleared up by now but nope.

I just realised we're seeing a nurse on monday for her 6mth vacc's ( ) and I might ask her then see if she knows what it could be.

Could be a fungal thing? My DH often gets little patches like that under his eye. The GP will be able to help identify it at least. HTH
