Why market a vapouriser thats not safe to use???

I've also been told that it's not safe to use Vicks or the Euky one for infants and that just plain water is the safest option. Im sure i wa told the reason but for the life of me now i cant think of it!

my doctor recommended using it with DS a few months ago, and my mother used it with me all through childhood including infancy.

I've always been told it's unsafe with the vicks or eucy too. I just used the water when it's in the bedroom, if I have it on in the lounge room (larger area) though I put some eucalyptus in it, but only a drop or two.
