Thanks for the response and suggestion - he was basing that on the fact that he gave her a sippy cup with milk and she did chug it down straight away.

The problem then was she didn't want to go back to sleep and still seemed to want a BF.

Maybe we try warming it up a bit and giving it to her in her room - he had to take her out to the kitchen which might have woken her right up??
