I think when we look into things we are able to find groups/reasons for everything, but at the end of the day we have to take some of our own responsibility for how & why some of these things happen.
It's not a bad article, but I don't think it would really help all "fussy"eaters & I am actually not a fan of the term "fussy" as nearly every child I know at my playgroup around 2 stops eating what they did say at 12months.....seems more of a phase to me. Many do not have this issues stated in the above article & then we as parents make the issues worse with the bribery etc....we ourselves need to take responsibility for that. Things like the "white food child" I do not agree with as I believe a child only knows what they are taught...I don't ever eat white breat so why would I give it to my child IYKWIM. They will eat the crap if you give them the crap. I have a 2.5yr old who has never had a glass of cordial, juice or soft drink. Many parents are amazed, they say their child won't drink water.....prob would if it was thirsty & you d?dn't offer anything else. Just my thoughts.
But I do very much agree with the 7min thing.....we have to be spot on at dinner time with DS or it's all over. I find if he gets to the point where he's so hungry he's to ask for something then that's it no vegies are getting eaten as he'll ask for something he can't have. But we don't give in to that nor do we fight at that time of night when we want smooth transition into bed etc.
Hmmmm my DS this week has eaten great at dinner for the first week in many, many months & I can not relate any of the above issues stated to him.
