I read in the paper today about pamela jones in the sunday mail (pg39) she works part-time does full-time uni and is due in sept. with her 10th child. Her shopping bill is $370 a week.
I think it is amazing. But what makes women decide they have enough love and time for that amount of children. i don't even like to think how the pregnancy's and births go.
my partner and i did 1 for me 1 for him and 1 for the country.
i do think good on her i just don't understand why that many.
OMG I have got a headache. I need to go and lie down .....
Just hearing about women like that makes me feel bone weary .......
Still, good on her, more power to her eh?
Personally I think one for him, one for her and one for the country is a pretty good innings! We have three too and it's enough to keep me tottering along in a fairly chronic state of fatigue ....
My hat goes off to her that's for sure, although I would like to know where she does her shopping, cause I can spend nearly that much every week for 5 of us.
As for chosing to have that many, I suppose you just know what you can handle. Back when our grandparents were kids it would have been very rare to see a family with only 2 or three kids - most had upwards of 6-7.
My DH is one of 13 and I really believe that some of them missed out on attention.While he has always felt loved by his parents there just never seemed to be that one on one with them all I think esp the older kids.

I was reading about the Duggar family in he us last night, they have just had their 17th and are talking about having more
I certainly couldn't do it, and i don't know how anyone can give 10 or 17 children quality 1 on 1 time
Maybe they just have alot more patience than me LOL

Ok, I don't believe you can do that without some of the older children taking responsibility for some of the younger children's rearing...unless she has an extraordinary extended family support network.
My MIL was the 13th of 16 kids, and she was basically raised by her older sisters. She said that her mum didn't really have enough time for the younger ones.
