    Yellow gunk in babys regurg

    What a yucky topic!

This morning I noticed some yellow mucus when my baby regurgitated some milk. He had a cold last week so this is possibly some phlem- although I'm not sure if four month olds get phelm. Should I take him to a doctor? I'm not overly concerened as he seems energetic at the moment.

    Hi Emma,

Yes, a 4 month old can produce phlem and throwing it up is the most effective way for them to eliminate it at that age (other than pooping it out). If you feel he is fine and are both coping, there is no need to go to a doctor. If it goes on for more than a couple of days I would get him checked to make sure it is nothing more sinister - same if a cold goes on for more than a couple of weeks...
