    Your body after second baby

My DS is now 6 months old. Im breastfeeding and im back to my pre birth weight and feel pretty good! Im wondering wether it'll be the same after having baby number 2 which we'll plan to have in the next couple of years)

Can anyone share on how their bodies felt after the second baby?

Bit saggier and a bit fatter LOL. The weight isn't dropping off as fast as it did first time around with breastfeeding. Altho, to be honest I can't remember when i got down below my pre-pg weight last time, but it can't have been too long coz I was pregnant again when DS was 1.

The skin on my tummy is taking longer to de-wrinkle as well - altho, it never really 'recovered' from no 1 either.

Sorry, no good news from my end! LOL.

Hmmm...yeah not such good news here either....LOL

Still a bit saggy, wrinkly and jelly like!

But it took 9 months to get like that...so people say you can allow another 9 to get back to normal...of course unless ur a celeb!! LOL

Focus on new bub and not so much on gettin back to pre baby figure...theres already enough emphasis (sp?) to be 'perfect'....but really....think of bub and dont let your body take of enjoyment

I'll be honest. After Charlie's birth I felt like a million dollars. I had the full on happy hormones for months, lost shed loads of weight, things "sprung back" quickly, my hair was thick and long and divine.....so there is hope!

Ive felt 100x better than the first time round - my stomach isnt as flabby or big, I was back to my pre preg weight at 1wk post partum, my hair and skin look fabulous. I keep having people tell me "OMG you have TWO kids under two? Are you sure?" because I apparently look great.

I didnt expect this so it was a big surprise to me. Guess I got lucky, less work to have to do.

I have recovered heaps faster the second time around! I feel great and I am not far off my pre-preg weight. The first time it took me 9 months to lose it all, this time it is falling off much quicker. I already had stretchies from first time around, so I haven't noticed much difference this time. There is hope, I promise!!

i had no probs after #2...still a bit of a jelly belly but i was back to pre-pregnancy weight within 4 months.

Now......for #3..thats another story.......im finding it longer, harder and more frustrating to get back to 'normal'...whilst im back to pre-pregnancy weight, i really need to tone. Having tummy stretch in and out x 3 times really takes its toll on the ole stomach muscles.....

    Good luck.

lol... I will second the "de-wrinkling" took longer for me. It didn't take me long to get back to pre pg weight... but I'm not one to weigh myself, I worked it out by what I could and couldn't fit into with my clothes...lol. I think part of it might be to do with something like metabolism in some way. It's all good and I have a lovely bub to show for it anyway

Yeah that's it.. I've got 2 beautiful bubs... I'm allowed to look like this!

Actually now I think about it, my tummy went down a lot quicker this time.. I looked 4 or 5 months pregnant for quite a while with #1. But yeah, bit more skin and a bit more flab this time around

Mind you - I'm a couple of years older too - that can make a difference!

Thanks Trish and Anna T you give me hope!! But as for the third baby...well i dont think that will ever happen!!

But i definately haveto have another one...i think it would be horrible for my DS to grow up without a brother or sister...how lonely!!

And even if i end up bigger with stretchies... its all worth it cos im lucky i can even have babies!! I love being mum and do not take it for granted!!!

I just would like to still look good for my age!!

I think it is harder to lose it with the second one, I think because it is harder to go for a walk with a toddler. I am BF again so not different there, but no 1 was a bigger baby and I think ate more.
But whilst I am back into my pre-preg clothes I still have 4-5 kilos to lose but I think I look good anyway!

DH is an only child and wouldn't let me just have one, I am so glad because now I have a beautiful girl and boy! Second time round all the settling etc seems easier and I think I spend more time just interacting with her than with no 1 when I was trying to live my old life still. But I don't have the energy for no 3 (or bedrooms). I am getting old!!

All the best with No 2.

I actually felt i dropped my pg weight faster the second time but I contribute alot of that to running around after #1!! Yes, still saggy, floppy and a bit wrinkly and am still saying I'm going to work on it

And it only came to light the other day that some celebs actually do scheduled caesareans along with a tummy tuck at the same time!! So here I was thinking "what am I doing wrong?" and now realise nothing!! I am actually enjoying my babies (and yes they are too but ykwim!! )

Just enjoy your babies because they grow up so super fast! Mums are amazing at what we can do - your body grew a whole little being with a individual personality!! I think we should take more time to realise how amazingly clever our bodies truly are!! Have so much fun with #1 and good luck with #2!!
