Haha, I love lots of kids books, Enid Blyton books (i used to love) Dr Seuss but the one that sprang to mind when I saw the title of this thread was The poky little puppy Cutest book ever!!!
I haven't read the other replies yet so sorry if I am repeating but I love "Oh the places you'll go" by Dr Seuss. It was a favourite of mine and it is a favourite of my childrens also.
I also love the book "Love You Forever" by Robert Munsch. I love reading this one to DS2 as it is gorgeous.
Wilfrid Gordon McDonald Partridge by Mem Fox is another fav of mine. But I find my DD loses interest![]()
But gee... that story makes me tear up just about every time. Reminds me of my Grandad
The places you'll go is beautiful - but again, my DD lose interest!
She likes fun quick stories, that rhyme and can have a lot of expression![]()
She might like Where is the Green Sheep? by Mem Fox.
Courdaroy and Wilberforce.
Oh, and There is a Hippopotamus on my Roof Eating Cake.
my sons fave books, that mummy is absolutly OVEVR reading, are i love you stinky face, hungry caterpillar, wombat stew and all the dreamtime books, but im not over reading the dreamtime ones as they were my faves to!
I have a whole heap of ****ys circle books. I'm not sure if they're still around but I used to buy them when DS1 &DD1 were little. They are great for reading to little ones as they are interesting enough to get their attention, and not too long that they get bored.
DS2's all time favourite book is "A fish out of water" by Dr Seuss. He thinks it is hilarious watching the fish grow bigger & bigger.
I just have to say.... I just you tubed this book. And I am now crying. Oh. My. God. What a beautiful story.
Now buying it too... LOL!
Where is the green sheep is a bit boring for her. She's pretty good, loves reading and will sit there listening watching, but some books I can just tell that she's not that excited about, iykwim. Loves lots of different voices.. she gets right into it! heehee!
Oh man.. that book is so beautiful!!![]()
Oh good lord, who suggested 'Love you forever'?? I had to google it too and now I'm bloody crying and it's not even 9am!!
I love the Gruffalo and the Gruffalo's Child... so much fun to read and my kids get really into it. My Mum, by Anthony Brown is great for younger kids. He also writes My Dad, but hey, let's talk mum up, not dad. I Love You to the Moon and Back is beautiful, can't remember the author. In fact can't remember if that's the title or just what we call it!! I'd go and find it to check for you but I can't see for all the bloody tears in my eyes over that Munsch book!!!
You guys ever watch Friends? Joey did a reading of Love You Forever to Rachel and Ross's baby, Emma. So beautiful.
My all time favourite is The Polar Express. Loved it since I was a little girl. Haven't been brave enough to see the film. Always loved The Eleventh Hour too by Graeme Base.
DD's favourite is The Terrible Plop. Her eyes light up whenever I get it out to read to her.
A good book for babies is Ten Little Fingers and Ten little Toes by Mem Fox.
It's SO lovely and the illustrations are gorgeous!
