DD does but he leaves before she is upset. She always asks if Daddy gave me a kiss before he left? The upside is DH picks her up from care, so she has me dropping her off but DH picking her up & that seems to help a bit.

Rouge - my DH was the SAHD for a little while & he was lucky enough to experience what a lot of women do everyday. I still think he is sad that he went back to work as I just couldn't handle being the full time bread winner - I felt like I was missing out on too much so I went part-time.

Heva & Zacky - funnily enough DD was better if we drew out the goodbyes at creche. If we gave her one cuddle & kiss then the teacher took her she'd be hysterical. All we'd have to do was to go back in for one more kiss & cuddle and then she was fine!

That's awesome! I wish everyone could do that. That would be my perfect world.

They're all different I guess. I've worked with a couple of hundred children, all different ages and never experienced that.
(I hope that doesn't sound rude, I don't mean it like that, just saying, it hasn't been MY experience.)

We get sad because when DH goes to work it can be up to 2 weeks before we see him again. DS1 in particular misses him because I don't do wrestling and footy as well as DH does and DS1 loves wrestling and footy.
If his work is in our home town and it's just a few hours it's no biggy.

Same here. Well, it's pretty rare.

Our DD doesn't get upset unless we deviate from the routine. We brush teeth as a family, then daddy goes out the back door, and we go out the front door, open the gate, kiss goodbye, then watch him ride off.

This morning he had to leave super early to travel, and the first hour of the day was spen with her asking "where? Where? Dada, Dada" Very sweet, but so sad for her!

My DH is away for work for 1.5 weeks at the moment and I was worried at how they would be. DD2 is fine. DD1 though has been SO grumpy and misbehaving, just not herself at all. Very frustrating but I'm trying to keep my cool and be understanding. Then last night when I was lying with them to get them to sleep she started crying. When I asked her what was wrong she said. 'I don't feel happy today. I miss my Daddy at work.' Poor little thing. She's never been away from him for this long before. We are at my Nans house for a holiday who she just loves so at least that is a but of a distraction.

    Nah, not at all rude!

I know at creche in the information they gave us it said not to delay saying goodbye, which we initially did but DD was not the 'norm', she preferred the delayed goodbye for some reason! She does it every now & then at creche & kinder, although she is older now so settles quicker.

Heaven - :-( So sad for your little ones. Does your DH call in to say goodnight or is that not possible where he is working?

Yeah they have been talking to him on the phone and Skype a couple of times to so we are lucky they can do that. Can't wait to have him home!

Not really, but he often leaves before they wake up.

I love that people can Skype!

I hope the time flies by!
