I don't like how sore his leg is. He has been getting around happily on all fours today. But Evan accidently just stood on his leg & once again he is howling the place down.

He also says it now hurts when I push the back of his leg....

I'd take him back tomorrow FJ. Better to be over cautious. It's a long time for a kid to put it on IYKWIM.

I don't know where I would take him tomorrow... Other then emergency & I really don't want to do that.
Monday I wont have the car either... I will have to do something tomorrow I think.
Like you said its too long. I strapped it for him earlier & just doing that was painful.

FJ- only you know your son, and mothers instinct is a powerful thing. I know emerg is a pita but at least there they can do another x-ray and assessment all in the one place. Presuming the hospital is not a one man band IYKWIM.

Problem with my local emergency room is the GP told me yesterday that they wont xray unless your dying.
So I don't know if going there will actually result in him being seen properly but i do know it will result in a very long wait

can you ice it up tonight and in the morning, and see how he goes til monday - then take him back to the GP - it sounds like he's at least bruised the bone pretty badly, and needs to be checked again. don't listen to the doc on the ten days thing - if you feel it needs checking every couple of days til he improves, you're entitled to have it checked - esp if it's hurting more than it was!

Pain from the back rings big bells with my bruised bone FJ, and in fact it got worse the second day because it was still bleeding, then stayed bad about a week, the slowly slowly got better. I could walk on it by about day 5 BUT i was much older and REALLY not a drama queen (hence the unnoticed broken wrist the year after...). Take him back and be aware that no matter what "policy" is, a worried mother can cut through all that. Where our cubs are concerned we lionesses don't hear "policy".

    Hugs.

He said he can put his foot down this m orning but can't put weight on it. While he was looking out the window (at the masive wind storm we have going on) I pushed on the back of his leg & bottom of his foot with no reaction. So hopin gits on the mend.

Well this morning he got up & WALKED to my room. Very slowly & very carefully but he was able to walk. But thats as far as he got now its too sore again.
I think I will still take him to the Dr tomorrow. That will be 5 days.

that's reasonable FJ - five days to wait when he's still obviously having pain is more than a lot of people would last! i'm glad he's slowly improving hun

I feel bad making him wait but I figure he is ok when he is playing, watching TV etc. Its just when he walks or tries too or one of the other kids stands on him that he is showing he is in pain.
Plus I figure the Dr is likely to just said panadol & rest. I don't have the car today as it needed the windscreen replaced & it was either take it an hour & half away from home with 3 kids & then sit & wait the 2/3 hours it will take to do it(well for it to be ready to drive) OR DH take the car to work & they do it there. That seemed the more sane option LOL
