Hi, not sure if i am in the right area for this, but my DS has inverted nipples and has had since birth and I am wondering if it is something that will just correct itself with time ( as I was told that when he was a few weeks old) but how much time? It is not an issue at all I am just curious and I all I seem to be able to find info on is about mothers with inverted nipples.
It isn't anything to worry about. They might, or might not correct themselves. But in the end it doesn't really matter at all.
A percentage of the populations (from memory something like 7 in 1000) have inverted nipples for life.
It is a congenital thing that is usually passed down in families so you will probably find that there is a history of it in either your family or your DH's - but short of asking everyone to whip their shirts off it would be hard to tell
DS are the same and I thought it was normal; until I saw his little cousin had outy ones!! i too was wondering if it was permanent or if they would change.
It's just one of those things - they might change or they might just be like that - same with women's breasts. Two of my brothers have them (one is a half brother though) and one of them doesn't. Luck of the draw....
