I see this thread was about a month ago. I was wondering what your progress/outcome was. My (nearly) 12 month old started biting at about 9 months and hasn't really stopped. Im sensing as the months go by that it might be a way for him to communicate with me, as he does it mainly as he is approaching his nap times. Not always - but mainly. I talked with my health nurse about it as I also wanted to nip this in the bud early, but no amount of 'No's" have made a difference. He doesn't bite anyone else except me and my husband. He also tends to bite areas he doesn't see often, like my legs (if Im about to get in the bath or something). Anyway, the post was to see if anything had changed with yours and interested in any other comments.
My 1 year old started biting really badly at about 9 months, also around the time that 5 teeth were coming up....but it was mostly me he was biting... it kinda stopped about a month ago but last week he bit mum BIG TIME.... i have also put it down to teething as the doc said another tooth was coming up the day he bit mum....
I have found that a strong firm NO and a tap on the hand seems to nip it in the butt a little... im not into smaking but a tap on the hand seems to do enough...
