Cot in bedroom?

Hey guys,
My lil guy is getting too big for his bassinette already, and is also starting to roll. He has had a few sleeps during the day in his cot and doesn't have any problem with it. He is a great sleeper and very easy to settle. My thing is I don't feel ready for him to be in his own room just yet. He is just over 3 months and I really like having him close by during the night. DH and I were thinking of moving the cot into our room till we feel a bit more ready. As for DS, he probably wouldn't mind either way - I think it's more me IYKWIM....
So, have many people done this? Is it harder to then get them into thier own room? Even though he is growing so quickly, he is still my precious little boy - I don't think I'm ready for the big boy room but really would love to hear of your experiences to help make an informed choice.

DD was in the same room until she was about 2. I didn't have any more room then - and I liked having her close too.

Not a problem getting her into her own room, I mean we had sleeping issues but that had nothing to do with her being in my room. xoxoxo

Bella out grew her bassinet at about 2 months (she is very very long!!) and we moved her cot into our room till she was 6 months, well that was the plan but she is 11.5 months now and STILL in our room! I love having her in there and I can sleep very soundly.
She is going into her own room after x-mas and I think that she will be ok with this - but I guess I will have to wait and see about that!!

If you feel better about having DS in your room in his cot then I say go for it! They are only babies for such a short time!!

DD is in her cot in our room, has been since she came home. I don't want her to move out!

Means I wake up when she wakes up, without her having to cry to get my attention during the night. i usually wake up a few times during the night and listen out for her making a noise or breathing so I know she is ok, if she was in her own room i think I'd be forever running up and down the hallway checking to make sure she was alright!

If you feel more comfortable having your bub in your room then do it, I dont think it will make them any more/less difficult to get them to sleep in their own room eventually. Mum's peace of mind is more important at this stage!

I still have DS in the cot next to our bed, Im still BFing, so its just too easy to grab him out and feed him then pop him back in, I couldnt imagine not having him near me, but thats just me!
Was thinking about moving him to his room, that only gets used for nappy changes! maybe sometime next year....

I was the same. Just because he is too big for the bassinette, I wasn't ready to move him out. so we moved our dressing table out so we could fit the cot in.

We also have a single bed in our room for DD (not that she sleeps in it )..

I had DDs cot in our room from 3 months when she outgrew her bassinet. I only moved her 2 nights ago into her own room at alomst 8 months, without any drama at all. I was dreading waterworks, but in honesty, she seems to prefer having her own room!

Hey girls
Thank you do much for your responses and help! I have just finished moving cot into our room ready for tomorrow. Phew that was hard work! DH is at work - I managed to take it apart and put it back togther myself! I feel very accomplished . Okay, now shower and bed for me!
