Anyways my bub 4 1/2 months seems to cry in her sleep, sometimes just a wimper, sometimes a full on cry that wakes her up. She really tosses around in her sleep too, this to wakes her up. I dont know wether she is in pain ( shes quite unsettled most of the time ) or if shes dreaming? do babies dream? i hope i dont sound silly
You don't sound silly at all. Both my DD's went through periods at that age and younger where they would cry out in their sleep. Most of the time they would go back to sleep. I just put it down to dreaming. Is your DD doing it every sleep and multiple times? If she is, maybe she is in pain and it might be worth getting a general check up at the GP. But if it's only occasionally it sounds pretty normal to me from my experience. HTH!
nope you dont sound silly
my ds used to do this quite a bit, would cry or whimper but was asleep. at first i used to run and pick him up and try settle him like that but realized soon enough that i was just waking him up more when i was doing it, i took him to the dr and he said he was prob dreaming and instead of picking him up just keep an eye on him.
so from then on i would only go in and give him his dummy and he would be asleep again before i left the room.
hope this helps
both my girls did this - I assumed its just dreaming. I think their dreams would be limited to what they know - which is pretty much milk, crying, people and sleeping - so I guess its not so strange that they would dream of crying!
It can be a bit distressing to see your little one crying in their sleep though
My girls are both good sleepers when they cry in their sleep it's a sign they are teething. I don't worry about pain relief unless it's kepping them awake.
