Drinking water from sippy cup - what age to do it independently?

Ds only started tilting it now (12 months) he's also just learnt to tilt his bottle too

Interesting to read! DD2 has been doing it since around 5 months but she is a little copy cat and so follows anything we show her.

DD1 didn't really get stuff like that till later though, can't remember when but closer to 1. She does have speech issues but not sure if that is related.

Sounds like there is quite a wide spread of normal.

I tried sippy cups for ages with limited success. At around 11 months I got DD one with a straw and she got it straight away. She was so excited and pleased with herself!

Spock can do it. She is 7 months. it took her a few weeks to work out to tilt her head back, once she clicked to that it was a breeze

DD2 has only just gotten it in the last few weeks and she's 11 months old.

FWIW DD1 refused all food except yoghurt and BM until 10months old and linguistically is at the top of her grade.
