Food for daycare - i feel horrible....

Usually DD takes all home made stuff to daycare. I spend a day on the weekend making muffins, piklets, hommus. She takes cheese and carrots, tomato, celery, ALL healthy stuff.
But these last couple of weeks (and what will be the next few) I just can't stand up in the kitchen long enough to make stuff for her to take. I was going round and round the supermarket to try and find healthy stuff but all the packaged stuff is so high in sugar/fats/carbs.... i just cringe everytime i look at it but I can't stand the pain to make it.
I will alway make sure she has cheese, carrots, tomatos etc... but all the other stuff. It makes me feel like I'm failing her by giving her packaged stuff when she is so used to homemade stuff

She doesn't drink juice only water and milk... so i know shes healthy but still.... it's how I feel at the moment.

Aww hun I bet she's still eating a lot better than some kids do, the stories I hear about what kids take to Z's preschool is scary! She'll be okay for a couple of weeks, even months with not as much home made stuff as she's used to

I am a hopeless cook so DD gets a lot of bought things but I have found some good things as well.

-Capsicum cut up into slices with some homus (loves this) and its quick and easy to do)
-Sandwiches on wholemeal with avocado, tomato, cheese (if we are at home I melt the cheese on the toast like an open grill) but you could just do avocado and cheese or whatever DD likes.
    -Fruit galore
    -yoghurt

    I'll keep thinking

    Thanks Sarah. x

Some of the stuff I have seen at DD's daycare just makes me want to be sick. Even though shes's got packages stuff i tried to get some "healthy" stuff - but there are kids lunches boxes just filled with chips and choc and stuff. I'm all for that occasionally but not everyday.

I never have time to cook, so here are the things you will find in my DD's lunchbox. All healthy.

    Air popped popcorn.
    cheese.
    rice cakes.
    tin fruit.
    dried fruit.
    fresh fruit.
    yogurt.
    vegemite sandwiches (multigrain bread).
    seeds (ie, sunflower)
    tuna and water crackers.

Gee I've never looked at the stuff other parents take.. hope what I pack for DS is ok. He usually takes a vegemite sanga, some cheese, sultanas, yoghurt, a fruit bar thing from the health section, apple, banana and an orange (if not an orange I pack grapes and strawberries).

Never been told really what to pack, so I just fill his lunchbox.. LOL
